Wedding weekend lodging near Eden Park, Mt. Adams and OTR

A wedding dress hanging in a closet at one of our Cincinnati houses

Weddings are the most common reason groups book our Cincinnati houses. We host relatives and the wedding party for the rehearsal weekend, getting ready and the nights around the ceremony. The houses are lodging for registered guests, with no parties or events; additional daytime people and getting-ready arrangements need discussion before booking.

All three houses are in East Walnut Hills, next to Eden Park and close by car to Mt. Adams, Over-the-Rhine and downtown. A family can stay in one house with separate apartments, or take the two neighboring Francis houses. Our wedding stays page and house comparison show the lodging options for your overnight guest list.

Choose lodging for the people staying overnight

The Cincy Historic Gem sleeps 20 and suits a family looking for two separate apartments. The Blue House, officially The Whole 3-Unit Building, sleeps 22 across three apartments, which can separate the wedding party's morning preparations from relatives' routines.

The Victorian Estate sleeps 32 and gives a larger family three apartments in one house. The Historic Gem and Blue House are next door, so the Francis pair lets a group of up to 42 divide between neighboring buildings; all three houses sleep 74 together.

The two Francis houses also book together for 42 guests. All three houses sleep 74.

Our full sleeping-layout guide shows the bedrooms, shared sleeping spaces and air mattresses behind those totals. Match the overnight list to that breakdown before choosing a house. A wedding guest who wants a fully private bedroom needs an actual room assignment, even when the group's headcount fits.

These historic houses are not a fit for guests who cannot manage stairs. For older relatives, use our grandparents and stairs guide to review the entrance and apartment they would use before booking.

Separate getting ready from the wedding guest list

Each apartment has its own entrance, kitchen and living space. People preparing together can use their assigned apartment while another household has breakfast or settles a child in its own space. Relatives arriving for the rehearsal weekend also have somewhere to leave their belongings between wedding commitments.

Rachel describes getting ready in the Blue House's separate units:

I booked this listing to have a space to get ready in on the day of my wedding. Having three separate but incredibly spacious units was amazing! The description matched the house exactly. It was well done! We highly recommend staying here

Hair and makeup professionals, photographers and other extra daytime people need approval before you arrange their visit. The overnight headcount and the getting-ready headcount can differ, so include both in the lodging plan. Registered guests only remains the standard rule, and ceremonies, receptions and other events belong at a separate venue.

Keep the apartment used for preparations connected to the sleeping assignment. A living room used overnight still belongs to the person sleeping there, and that person's belongings need a place during the morning. Put breakfast supplies in the kitchens your group will use, especially if some relatives leave for wedding duties before everyone else is awake.

Mallory's Historic Gem review describes how her group divided the getting-ready spaces:

Such a great house and host! My wedding party stayed here and it was perfect for getting ready! During the day of the wedding, we kept the boys in the back unit and it was perfect! Would highly recommend.

Fit check-in around the rehearsal weekend

Most of our groups arrive Thursday or Friday and stay two or three nights. Standard check-in is 4 PM. A rehearsal or an early getting-ready start can fall close to that time, so base those plans on regular check-in until we confirm an earlier arrival.

Early check-in is often possible when no group leaves that morning. With a same-day departure, it depends on turnover. Self check-in allows registered guests to arrive separately once their apartment is ready; each household needs its house and apartment assignment before arrival.

The Historic Gem has driveway parking plus street parking. The Blue House and Victorian Estate have street parking. The vehicle count matters when a wedding group brings several cars or vans, and unusual vehicle arrangements need discussion before booking.

Each apartment has its own kitchen, so relatives can have breakfast where they are sleeping. That helps when the wedding party leaves earlier than the rest of the family. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 9 AM, including the night everyone comes back from the reception.

How far ahead wedding groups book

Friends planning a separate trip before the ceremony can use our bachelor and bachelorette weekend lodging page for house rules, getting-ready arrangements and neighborhood drives. Keep that trip's overnight roster and dates in its own lodging plan.

In our stays, wedding season runs August through October. Wedding groups usually book about three months ahead; groups taking both Francis houses book about four months ahead. Availability for your dates still needs checking, especially when the family wants neighboring houses.

Airbnb caps a single booking at 16 guests. A wedding guest group above that cap, a group using several houses or one with special requests starts with an inquiry. Individual house pages have Airbnb and VRBO links.

Questions we hear from groups

Can wedding hair, makeup and photography happen at the house?

Discuss the people and arrangements before scheduling them. Getting ready needs an agreed plan, including any extra daytime professionals. The reservation is lodging for registered guests, with no parties or events.

Can wedding guests staying elsewhere visit our apartments?

Additional daytime visitors need discussion first. Include their numbers and purpose in the proposed stay. A lodging reservation does not give other wedding guests permission to gather at the house.

Should we count the wedding party separately from overnight relatives?

Count everyone sleeping at the house in the overnight total, including children and infants. Then identify anyone coming only to get ready. That separate daytime list needs review before arrangements are made.

Can a rehearsal-day arrival happen before 4 PM?

Early arrival depends on whether another group checks out and on turnover. Keep the rehearsal plan based on standard 4 PM check-in until earlier timing has been confirmed for your dates.

Can the wedding family reserve the two Francis houses together?

Yes, subject to availability. They are next door and sleep 42 together across five apartments. An inquiry lets us consider the neighboring houses as one lodging plan.

Send us your wedding dates, full overnight headcount, house choice, stair needs and vehicle count, along with the getting-ready plan and any proposed extra daytime people. We can answer those house questions together before you schedule preparations.
